Oh man !!! I am backed from Beijing, people!! It is really a very nice, good, special or i should say unique experience in this 9 days trip... Hmm...Beijing is a really cold country...which temperature can drop till 2 at night and there is still 1 day which snows when we all went to Forbidden City... I guess the temperature is already negative.It is the 1st time i saw snow falling from the sky... Cos in SIngapore...it will be summer all the year... The temperature is always warm, only when times when it rains then the country will be more cooling...
Day 1: Singapore to beijing Ah bear drive me to the Changi Airport in the morning and we reached around 6.50am.Look around and i don't seems to see anyone of them yet, most proberly they are not here yet since we have to meet around 7am. Saw the Air China counter at booth 10 and began to see Eunice and some other students. Report to her and have my name ticked and i get a Rp notebook...Sat down a side with ah bear and wait till its time to check in... Almost everyone arrived and we have our luggage checked in around 745am... deperatured... wave to bear... promise to call n msn him if i could... Facy ask us to buy a soveniour which represent SIngapore...is like so random...haha...We also need to form groups of 5... me, bridget, fong yi, hui fang and yu jun. Know three new friends that morning =) We had a quick grab after buying the soveniour and its time to get ready to board the plane... CA976 Air China... Too bad i cant sit with bridget cos the seats are jumble up... but its ok, she is just infront of me... sit with Mei yi(did not know her yet, only after the trip)...Blar blar...Ate the Fish meal in the plane...quite nice... nice experience sitting the plane.. heh heh

Reached Beijing around 3.30 pm in the afternoon where we reached Beijing Capital International Airport... The moment i alright from the plane, cold air start blowing towards my face and i quickly put on my jacket before i feel too cold... it was around 5 degree that time... We have to take a bus the moment we alright from the plane to the place we took a train which brings us to claim our luggage... The funny thing is the belt is moving at quick a fast speed and we really have to get ready and be fast when we saw our luggage coming...or else... you will be start chasing over ur luggage...LOL...somemre people there are pushing and squeeezing infront to have the best position to stand in getting ready... you know la...china's culture is pushing...so ya...
Finally i get my luggage and we proceed to the arrival entrance, we saw Dr LILI and two other China students from Peking university picking us up. They welcome us and bring us out to take the bus to Peking University Health Science Centre. Took pictures alot the way in the bus...felt like a sua ku...but who cares...its the 1st time i am in beijing =) Saw the "Bird Nest" along the way...was liek so happy...cos it is where olympic 2008 is held... =)
Took about half an hour before we arrived at Peking University Health Science Centre
(Bei Jing Da Xue Yi Xue Pu)...was kind of excited and there are quite a number of shops outside the campus... The bus drive us to the international students hostel where we will be staying for the next 9 days. Alighted and carry that heavy luggage to the lobby of the hostel... Facy allow us to choose who to stay nxt door to us...As is 1 people per room... stayed at room 353... beside me is bridget 355 =)
while yu jun is 357... but fong yi and hui fang stayed at lvl 15... hmmmm...still ok la...
Dr LILI and Professior Shen brought us for dinner in the canteen within the campus... The 1st meal i had is like....ermmm.... omg... well..is not nice la... i rate it like 3/10 only... it taste weird... well ... The rest of them also feel that it taste weird and show that "not nice" look...HAHA...its ok... After dinner, Dr LILI and Professior Shen brought us around the school canteen to look around as there are many other canteens around and we can just go over and have our breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is also a convience store within the campus where we can shop for our daily needs and snacks... I was eager to buy Phone cards so that i can call mum n dad and bear... Good that we happened to saw a phone card shop and i brought a prepaid and top up card, immediately call mum n dad n bear to complain how cold it was in Beijing... yaa....Thats all for Day 1
Day 2: Woke up like 7am in the morning as we need to meet at 8am at the lobby if i am not wrong... We have a opening ceremony follow by walking around Peking University Health Science Centre campus today to get familar with the place so that we will know where to go to when we have lectures and lab sessions... The campus building is quite beautiful and we took pictures of the building around. Had dinner at KFC which is along the streets outside the school... We had KFC as we are kind of like traumatised by ytd's dinner and we did not dare to dry other food just yet. Still we felt that Singapore's KFC tasted better...LOL...AFter we eaten, we shopped and walked along the streets. There si a shop which caught my attention as there is a white doggie inside the shop. i guess it belongs to the owner. I entered the shop as i want to play with the dog la...but i pretened to view the clothings as i am afraid that the owner might not like it... HEHE...the doggie is so friendly... I even took some pictures with it...i pat the dog and its body is so soft...wohooo... =) Hui fang and fong yi quickly runs away as they are afraid of dogs...LOL & YAA....I tried the Beijing famous BING TANG HU LU !! its nice ok !! yum yum
Look around other shops after that and Bridget saw a clothes which she likes...The Mickey mouse shirt but she did not bought it yet... Fong yi and Hui fang brought strawberries...hehe...Ya...its time to go back to the hostel to meet up with the rest as we need to visit the hospital after that.
Went to BEI YI SAN YUAN (Peking university Third Hospital) for a visit.It seeems like a busy hospital with so many patients around... Nurses and doctors with their white coat walking around... We proceed to a meeting room where we had a introduction of the hospital itself. The hospital have different focus and departments and it is a hospital with 50 years of experience.
Tour around and get to see the wards and doctors on duty...Good experience.... We ended around 4pm and good news is that Dr LILI and Eunice is bring us to the "Bird nest" !! The olympic 2008 offical helding place!! We are so excited and we are prepared to take alot of pictures of the "Bird Nest" !! HEHE
Took the public transport which is the bus..It just cost 1 rmb for the bus...So cheap..but the bus was rather packed, we have to take care of our belongings...YAA
Reached the " Bird nest" after like 15 minutes?? As usual pictures taken all around and there are people around bugging us to buy soveniours... LOL...well...we did brought cos it is consider memorable items ya... Yeahh....great day and ya...my hands are numb cos it too COLD !!
We took the bus backed and guess what....we go to the wrong place and we all walk for like almost 1 hr plus...bus we discovered some great shops around and we planned to go there someday...hehehe....SHAGGED day after so much walking...bathed and doze off...
Day 3: Day 3 begins...ya...meet 8am again as we need to attend lectures... We need to attend physiology and biochemistry undergrad lectures that morning...the lesson is intensive and we are kind of stuck as those chinese science terms are kind of like too hard for us to understand... Some almost fall asleep...LOL, 4 hours of lectures and we are hungry...We walked to the canteen as fast as we could as we wan some lunch right away... This time the food still tasted alright...think we are too hungry la..LOL
yaa...meet aroound 1 plus again as we will be visiting the main campus of Peking university...The campus is really huge...is like 3 or 4 times bigger than peking university health science centre... The campus is also pretty with many nice scenery...Beautiful plants and flowers...We visit the school history museam to have a better understanding of the school... This school is rich of history and its is kind of unique... Took alot of pictures around this beautiful cammpus...Nice experience again =) YAYA !! THEY STILL HAVE
YI TA HU TU lor (idioms which means all in a mess) LOL...Yi ta is the pagoda they have, while HU means the lake in chinese where they also have in the campus and TU means pictues in chinese but Library is called TU Shu guan... so makes up the "all in a mess" with the pagoda, lake and library they had ! How unique!
Ended the visit around 4pm and we decided to went to "BUGIS STREET" which is just behind the school. We discovered this place as we walked all the way after we took the wrong bus ytd night. We called it "BUGIS STREET" as there are alot of shops around and it is just like the best place to shop and bargins... but it close at arounf 7pm...so its kind of rush to shop and we can just bargin like mad in here...There are pretty and trendy clothings everywhere...You will feel like buying everything thing that looks nice to you...LOL brought quite some clothings and i am kind of happy...heheheheh
Ate our dinner along the streets outside the shops... nice nice beijing food =) YUmmy...nice try though !!

Yar..Its day 4 and we shall being our lab sessions today...Will be
Pathology today, tomorrow will bw toxicology and clinical on Monday while sat and sun will be our rest and play day =)
Pathology today was really interesting, we get to look at things we have never seen in school. Like how they preserve the organs in formalin. These are use for further research use i guess... to look at how the infected organs will be... I has also tried a equipment which cuts cells tissues into slices so that we will be able to observe it on the slides after staining is being done. There are alot of procedure needed after getting the sample til the last stage where the slides is under the microscope for observations...
So now I shall let pictures do the talking now about what i have seen about the preserved organs:

Morning session ended and lunch again (where i forget where we had our lunch liao) LOL
After lunch, we will be visiting Peking University Third Hospital 's Pathology lab which is near the Operating room... YA...again...pictures is disturbing...Be prepared...
We are being brought to a room where there are pathologist i guess... who is diagnosing on a person's stomach who has just being removed in an operation... heard from the explaination is that the stomach is still warm... There are ulcers on the stomach so it has to be removed... Whoa... Being a pathologist is cool...they are the one who help doctor to diagnose illiness...They are the backstage heros yaa!!
Aftr walking around, we are brought to another building where we get to look at other pathologist lab. It is really busy working and i tink those job are never ending...
Next we are being brought to a place where there is an underground pass (like some secretive room and it look spooky) hehehehe...
Well, it can really be spooky there becos...the whole place down there is filled with research specimens where organs and body parts are being preserved with formalin for study uses... I doubt we will have a chance to get into places like this in Singapore... unless we already entered the medical school...haha
Ended our Pathology lab session around 4pm...Ya...it Free and Easy again... "Bugis street" again !! =)
Day 5: Toxicology Lab session/ Xi Dan ShoppingWARNING: Pictures may be disturbing ya !!Do not view if you know you are not comfortableInteresting lab sesson again today... however i still feel abit heart pain la... cos we will be watching how disection king disect those helpless little rat. There is no choice but to sacrifice these little creature for experimentation purposes. However this all girl group was really brave enough...we open our eyes wide as the disection king kill the rat and we even video it up.... Omg...violence girls...muhaaa =) however we had a precious lesson today and i salute to those little creature !! hehe
Ya, today is a half day, as what facy promised us when we have our half day she will bring us to go shopping =) So we decided to go to Xi dan which is the "orchard" version of China...hehe I act hope to go to Beijing Zoo so that i can see panda...but heard that it is not worth and we did not know where is it, so i just give up the idea...
Took the subway there, and is like we need t0 walk a very long distance to change into another route to our destination... real tiring ! Brought a really cute looking Hello kitty and some other things... =) Never really buy alot as the things there are much expensive...but i can say we had a great time la =P cabbed back to hostel that day as we are just too lazy to take subway!! LOL
Early night as we need to save energy for tomorow's GREAT WALL !!
Day 6: GREAT WALL !!!!!!!yeah!! After days of lessons and lab sessions, it time for some fun today !! We meet up in the morning and EAT maggie mee in Bridget's room as breakfast so that we can have more energy to climb later!! LOL
Off to great wall and we took about 1 and a half hr to reach there... It was quite far from where we are... Lucky there is bus cathered =) (Lazy)
Reached Great wall...one word : COLD !!
Hands turned numb after i stayed for 10 min there... There are alot of shops which sells soveniour along the streets as we make our LONG LONG way slowly UP to Great wall... brought our tickets and there is student price ...so only 20 RMB ! hehe
There comes our torture !!
We need to climb dunno how many many many many and still many steps before we reached the wall... however, i can say it all worthwile cos the scenery can take your eyes off !! Beautiful, beautiful and still beautiful !! We took alot of pictures as we not want to miss any! Here we form the LAI LAI family...The LAI LAI family comes along when everytime Fong yi discover a great view to take pic and she will shout for Jeslyn to come over (LAI LAI) to take pictures for the 5 of us... It is really fun !! From that day we come into good terms with jeslyn, mei yi, ai ni and wilson group... The LAI LAI family..LOL =)
Had a great great time today despite being so tired...Tired but still smiling happily ! Yeahh...we choose to take the slides all the way down which is really shiok man ! SO fun man ! At first i am still feel uneasy as i wondered if it will be safe... but after that i want to take again lor ! FUN FUN FUN !!

Day 7 : Forbidden City/ Gu Gong Meet around 830am in the morning today to get ready to Forbidden City...
Not the whole 23 went as some of them choose not to go since they went there last time before there is only about half the group go... Took the public transport which is the Sub way again... It is still alright... not that crowded and walk that long like that day when we go Xi dan...hehe
It was so crowded man...there are people all around... However i was so happy to see Tian an men...the building is really beautiful !! Whoa... met Dr LILI there and she guide us all along to the entrance of Forbidden City before she leave us... No student Price...as they say they don't recognised overseas students card...LOL...Then why Great Wall allow?? Nvm...paid 40 RMB
I think is not worth as we did not really explore much...the 2 seniors from Peking University just bring us from the main door till the exit...is like?! we just walk all the way stright...Not fun!! I want to explore more around lor!! TSK TSk!! Somemre it is really cold that day man ! It even snows !! Omg...i wear so many layers but still...not enough..hmmm.... somemore the people here seems kind of uncivilised, they like to push and squeeze... wad e hell ?! Whateva...
Fun thing is that we at least get to wear the princess and emperior costume... HEHE...So fun being a GEGE (princess)...got the urge to watch reture of the pearl princess =) Almost the whole group wear costumes and took pictures, only a few did not.
Next we are out of the palace, and some suggest to go to "Jingshan park" so that we can have a great view of the whole palace on top. It was tiring again lor, we had to climb stairs again to go up to the top...Super sian...then somemre it is steep...scary de...I think some even fell lor when we come down...I shall not mension who...LOL =) (Evil)
Took bus back to hostel....SLEEP>>>> i sleep till like evening when we all meet up for dinner with LAI LAI group : jeslyn, mei yi, ai ni and wilson they all...LOL
We went to a resturant for dinner near the university...hehe...is nice and cheap wo...WORTH WORTH !! Somemre we had our private room de lor... we all 11 people inside the room eating and fooling around...LOL

Day 8: Clinical Lab session/ dinner at Jin wei Luo
Yawnn....i can today's clinical lab session is bored dao... Is more like a lecture to me... they bring us to different lab to look at how those equipments/machines works and how they do their task daily...Some chinese science terms is like...I don't know what they mean...But nvm... haha...at least some i still can understand...then just nod nod...if we don't understand...we will just say we nv learn before...LOL
Ended the whole session with 4 visits around 4pm... We had to make our way to Xi Dan- Jin Wei Luo with Dr LILI where we will had our closing ceremony and dinner with the whole team and Some invited professior and teachers.
Jin Wei Luo looks grand and expensive..HAHA...Took some pictures of the resturants and the table lay out... =) The food is still okay... i rate it like 7/10
Just that the appetizers tasted kind of weird...(Don't like) the main dishes are still nice... hehe...especially a dish with pork 1... They all say it is my fav dish as they keep saw me eating..LOL
After the dinner: 1 word :
FULL and yet DR LILI still pass food for us from her table where they can't finish... My table are all girls with only 1 guy but we finished all the dishes... scary and hungry girls huh ! LOL
Certificate Presentations begins after Professior Shen speak a few words to us =)PICTURE taking again and blar blar...
Went back to hostel... we 5 of us and Eunice took the bus while the rest all took cab...LOL...The rest are going to have party at Jeslyn room, but i choose to skip it as i was tired and i havnt finish packing... heard that they party till like 4am ?! Omg !!
Day 9: Last day in Beijing/ CA969 - Beijing to Singapore
Last day in Beijing and we have to spent every minute here wisely !!
WOke up early as we promised to meet up for breakfast at MAc... At first we decide to meet at 7am..but i guess the rest are tired after ytd's party so we meet like 8 instead... Ate Mac breakfast, was quite similar to Singapore, just that the coffee seems to taste better...HEHEHE
had a quick breakfast and we hurried off to "Bugis Street" again for our last last minute shopping... Grab everything we like at the last min there..LOL
Bridget is so funny...she was still telling me happily that we will come here for last min shopping..YET HOR>>> she did not bring enought money as the rest of her money is still inside another pouch of hers...BLUrr BLOCK la...LOL
then nvm...we try to get discount to the lowest and lucky we met the lai lai team, and she borrowed some cash from Jin Hua 1st so that she can get her stuff...LOL
Brought some clothings real quick there as we need to check out of our hostel by 1130am ... While fong yi had he manicure done...LOL
Shopping was done real fast and we agree to meet at 1015 outside...but only till 1030 we saw fong yi only...then she was asking us did we see hui fang...
We search for this blurr girl around the whole "Bugis street" but she was no where to be found... We are worried and we are just like those ants around the hot pot.. Anxious and worried about hui fang and afraid that we are late for the check out...
We had no choice but to went back to the hostel around like 1045pm...we pray that hui fang was already backed....when we reached the hostel...she was not @ the lobby... we prayed again that she will be in Yu jun's room..argh...she was there...
She told us that she can't find us so she went back alone... How dangerous...Hai...
But we still thank god that she is safe and sound...
We quickly stuff our brought stuff into our bags and ready for check out...
Bad things happen to me...i shall not elaborate about it here ...if not my blood will boil again ! (Bad impression liao) =( Lucky there are my facy and professior shen helped me to settle...if not...
SIAN 1/2Off to the Beijing Capital Airport where Professior Shen and 2 medical students who guide us along send us off at the hostel...

HOME IS THE BEST !
OVERALL: I really learn alot and see alot in these 9 days in Beijing... i feel that i am even more independent and thinking has changed after this trip...it rocks !!
8/10 for this learning trip !
